VC Spotlight: Remagine Ventures
When most investors were chasing the next social app or delivery unicorn, Eze Vidra and Kevin Baxpehler were watching something else unfold, a tectonic shift in how humans create, consume, and connect. It wasn’t just tech; it was entertainment, identity, and imagination colliding into one borderless stage. Out of that conviction, Remagine Ventures was born in 2018, an early-stage VC built to fund the intersection of entertainment, AI & consumer behavior before the crowd saw it coming.
Eze Vidra, former GP at Google Ventures Europe and Head of Google for Entrepreneurs, spent years helping founders turn sparks into scale. He also founded VC Cafe in 2005, one of the first blogs chronicling the rise of European tech, and Techbikers, a nonprofit that’s rallied 1,000+ tech pros to cycle 6,000+ km for Room to Read, funding globaleducation. Alongside him, Kevin Baxpehler, a German-born founder turned investor, brought a record of building & exiting ventures across continents. Together they designed Remagine to be what Vidra calls a “multi-corporate Google Ventures”, independent in conviction yet powered by strategic LPs like ProSiebenSat.1 & Liontree LLC.
Their thesis is sharp: creativity + code = capital. The most valuable startups now live at that intersection. From GenAI, synthetic media, and gaming to Web3 & the creator economy, Remagine writes early checks to founders turning imagination into infrastructure. They spotted Hour One back in 2019, betting on synthetic avatars before GenAI had a name. Fast-forward to 2025, Wix acquires Hour One, a full-circle validation of Remagine’s early conviction.
The pattern repeats: Vault AI decoding predictive storytelling for studios, Minute Media redefining sports content, Syte.ai leading visual search commerce, and Munch using AI to edit creator videos, now past 1M users. Add 13+ GenAI plays and you see the through-line: they don’t wait for trends; they see around corners.
Capital is only the first move. Remagine embeds with founders, unlocking corporate access, accelerating GTM, and serving on boards to help shape the narrative, not just finance it. They back resilience, vision, and domain mastery, pre-product conviction over post-hype noise.
Their roots run deep in Israel’s entertainment tech ecosystem, a region where 1 in 22 founders is a repeat builder, and creativity scales like code. Through the Firgun newsletter (7K+ subs), mentorship at London Business School, and community work via Techbikers, they’ve built not just a fund, but a movement grounded in generosity & grit.
Today, Remagine’s portfolio cos are hiring across eng, product, BD & mentorship roles in Tel Aviv & NYC. The future of entertainment tech isn’t coming, it’s being built.
