The pair met at Hack for Social Impact SF, sketched a prototype for solving the city’s permitting maze, & landed YC within days. Their platform reads CAD & PDF drawings, extracts materials, estimates costs, & flags compliance risks before permitting. What once took days now takes hours, a 20× speed lift that lets suppliers & builders bid 10× more projects with sharper accuracy.
Its latest release, the Openings Model, zeroes in on Division 8, doors & windows, the silent bottleneck of construction. Instead of days of doc hunting, estimators get organized data integrated directly into ERPs like Comsense, Emullion & Avaware. The impact spans 6 countries, from multifamily builds to hospitals & battery plants, proof that blueprint automation scales across borders & materials.
In Jul 2025, Bild AI raised $3.1M seed led by Khosla Ventures with Mission Street Capital, Ryan Sutton-Gee & Ooshma Garg joining. Funding fuels headcount & model growth as the company attacks a $50 B manual-estimation market. Each % of savings builds real roofs, walls, & opportunity.
