Attovia Therapeutics - Series C
$90M Raised
There’s something about a startup that doesn’t just enter biotech, but rips the lab coat off the wall, spins out of stealth with a new class of therapeutics, and walks straight into a $90 million Series C like it’s got the cheat codes to pharma. Attovia Therapeutics isn’t tiptoeing through the immune system, they’re putting it on notice.
Born in June 2023, Attovia didn’t waste time “laying foundations” or “exploring options.” They spun out of Alamar Biosciences, Inc. with a fully loaded platform, the ATTOBODY™ engine that’s already doing things monoclonals wish they could. Think biparatopic nanobodies binding like molecular glue, two epitopes, one mission: ultra-specific, high-affinity biologics with half-lives you can tune like a stereo dial. One year in and they’ve dosed their first patient in a Phase 1 trial. Talk about speed to execution.
And now? $90 million more fuel in the tank. Deep Track Capital led the charge, flanked by new heavy hitters like Vida Ventures, LLC, Sanofi Ventures, and Mirae Asset Capital Life Science. Returning believers? Frazier Life Sciences, venBio, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Nextech Ventures, Cormorant Asset Management, LP, EcoR1 Capital, LLC, Marshall Wace, and Illumina Ventures. When this many sharp minds pile back in, it’s not hype, it’s conviction.
Big congrats to founder and CEO Tao Fu, who went from boardroom deals at Johnson & Johnson and Bristol Myers Squibb to building a clinical-stage rocket ship in under 24 months. And salute to the squad: CFO Steven Chan, CMO Dr. Hubert Chen, CSO Dr. Petter Veiby, and CTO Dr. Hangjun Zhan.
ATTO 1310 is already running through Phase 1 for chronic pruritus of unknown origin, one of those conditions that affects millions and gets zero press because no one’s figured it out. Yet. ATTO 3712 is next up with a bispecific aimed at atopic dermatitis. And if you think this stops at skin, think again. IBD and oncology are squarely in the crosshairs.
Attovia’s game is modular biology. Plug and play with payloads, fuse to Fc domains, build bispecifics on the fly. The result? Therapies that are built smarter, move faster, and hit harder. They’re not selling “potential.” They’re showing progress, backed by platform tech that doesn’t just promise, it delivers.
$255 million raised in under two years. A lead candidate in the clinic. A second right behind it. A pipeline expanding into one of biotech’s biggest, most complex battlegrounds. No gimmicks. Just execution.
